Sandra is the sexy female voice behind Engima. My passion for her music started years before Sadeness Pt.1 was released. I still remember the first record I ever bought was "The Long Play" and my first ever CD ironically was "Paintings In Yellow" too. The first time I discovered Sandra was in a various artistes compilation which I bought because of Madonna's "Into The Groove". The song was "Maria Magdalena" and I fell in love forher voice at that very instance. At that time, she was not as well-known as other German groups like Modern Talking or Joy in this part of the world (Asia) and getting any news on her was just so difficult. All the while I could only rely on a local importer of German dance music for her new releases.
When her  "Ten On One" album came out, I decided to write to her to tell her how much I like her music. To my surprise a few weeks later, I received a letter from her previous management, Mambo Music and also best of all a postcard with her autograph on it.

These days I would still listen to her music once in a while and it's a pity that her last 2 releases with some new materials + cover versions were not as good as her earlier works
This is especially so in her 1995 release, "Fading Shades". This album saw a departure from her previous style of music and in my opinion was a bit like techno rave music popularised by singers at that time like Marusho & later Blumchen. Honestly speaking I was really disappointed with this album.

Her latest album in 2002, 'Wheel of Time' showed some slight improvement over the last one. But still I felt that there were just too many cover versions. It made me wonder if her long-time producer husband, Michael Cretu (Enigma), has lost his edge in song writing. I think they should revert to their old hit-making formula ie. to write simple, straight forward yet catchy romantic dance music like my all time favourite tracks of hers, 'Two Lovers Tonight' and Innocent Love'.
My wish is for her future albums to be made in the same way like her first 3 albums without a trace of Enigma's influence. I am quite sicked of Enigma already after their first 2 albums.

Similar singers/songs : Mylene Farmer, Inga Humpe, Enigma, Linda William' , Atlantique , C.C.Catch,
